Healing Pain For Children

December 23, 2009 - 9:08 am No Comments

Some mothers may give their healthy children many pills every day. Some pills are not even necessary such as sleeping pills. Imagine a young girl with good health is receiving sleeping pills from her mother every single day. One day she has a party with her friends and she needs to take those pills in the middle of the party. Do you think the girl will fall asleep right after taking the pills? The answer is obvious. The girl will only fall asleep when her friends are asleep too.

Parents’ education is the first important part for medication consumption of kids.

There are babies and young children died of poisoning every year. This could be prevented if they were taught the right attitude towards medication. So parents should show their children that it is wrong to take pills whenever they feel uncomfortable. Many of the fatal cases of poisoning can be avoided if they have this thinking.

I have seen all four of my children in pain and I know it hurts. However, it is sometimes more important for us to show them love and acknowledgment at those times. Say a boy falls hard on the ground somewhere far away from his house, he cries extremely hard. As he slowly makes his way back to his parents, he gradually stops crying. He then cries again upon seeing his parents. As a parent, you only have to take him in your arms and tell him you know he is feeling painful. All he needs is a sign of love. The pain has actually already long been gone!

Kids, like adults, their minds can only focus on one thought consciously at one time, either on an object or on a thought. You must have seen a baby staring at his hand or at a fan, paying full attention to that. Thus whenever your kids feel painful, you can direct his or her to think of something other than the things that make him or her feels painful. This can help healing their pain.

What do mothers usually do when we are in pain? They kiss us and you must agree that it does make it less painful.

There are of course some children who are under chronic pain, others may have to face treatments like chemotherapy or bone marrow transplant which are highly painful. What do we do if such things happen?

“Patch Adams” is an inspiring movie on these issues. Patch Adams was brave enough to challenge the existing system as a physician. He maintained that positive spirit while he was talking to patients with terminal diseases. I can’t imagine myself doing that, but I do admire him a great deal. Some people complained too much about the movie, disliking the fact that the old physician came together with a beautiful girl. These people should pay closer attention because they were missing the point of the whole story. I would suggest them to watch it a second time. It’s worth it.

Restless Leg Syndrome Medication And Help

September 9, 2009 - 3:48 pm No Comments

Medication For Restless Leg Syndrome What is Restless Leg Syndrome ? Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is a neurological problem characterized by horrible feelings in the legs and an irrepressible urge to move whilst at rest in an attempt to relieve these feelings. RLS sensations are often described by folks as burning, creeping, tugging, or like insects crawling inside the legs. Often called paresthesias (abnormal sensations) or dysesthesias (unpleasant abnormal sensations), the sensations range in severity from uncomfortable to irritating to excruciating.

Medication For Restless Leg Syndrome The most distinctive or extraordinary aspect of the condition is that lying down and trying to relax triggers the symptoms. As a consequence, most people with RLS have problems falling asleep and staying asleep. Left untreated, the condition causes exhaustion and daytime fatigue. Many persons with RLS describe that their employment, private relations, and activities of day by day living are strongly affected as a result of their exhaustion. They are often unable to concentrate, have impaired memory, or fail to accomplish daily tasks.

Medication for Restless Leg Syndrome Some researchers estimate that RLS affects as many as 12 million Americans. However, others estimate a much higher occurrence since RLS is thought to be under diagnosed and, in some cases, misdiagnosed. Some people with RLS will not seek remedial attention, believing that they will not be taken sincerely, that their symptoms are too mild, or that their condition is not treatable. Some physicians wrongly attribute the symptoms to anxiety, sleeplessness, stress, arthritis, muscle cramps, or just plain getting old.

Medication for Restless Leg Syndrome RLS occurs in both genders, although the incidence may be a little higher in women. Although the syndrome may kick off at any age, even as early as infancy, most patients who are severely affected are middle-aged or older. In addition, the severity of the disorder appears to increase in intensity with age. Older patients experience symptoms more often and for longer periods of time.

More than 80 percent of people with RLS also experience a more general condition known as periodic limb movement disorder (PLMD). PLMD is characterized by involuntary leg twitching or jerking movements throughout sleep that typically occur every 10 to 60 seconds, sometimes throughout the night. The symptoms cause repetitive awakening and severely disrupted sleep. Unlike RLS, the movements caused by PLMD are involuntary-people have no control over them. Although many patients with RLS also develop PLMD, most people with PLMD do not experience RLS. Like RLS, the cause of PLMD is unknown. After much research, i have found a product that has been successful for many people afflicted with this annoying disorder.

Migraines Can Truly Affect Your Life In A Terrible Way

August 31, 2009 - 2:39 am No Comments

You could be having a great day, everything is going right and then all of a sudden it hits you. Migraines can be the stopper of a good time and can put you in a bad mood quicker than ever.

There are many different symptoms involved with a migraine and they can affect each person in a different way. As a matter of fact, each time you have a migraine your experience may be a little to a lot different. While the affects can hit everyone differently, there are some commonalities in the symptoms.

The head pain that is felt with a migraine has been described as intolerable. It can be very painful and sometimes just slightly bad. The temple area and the back of the head area are places that you may feel like you have a throbbing spot.

The head pain from a migraine can be worse on one side of your head or the other. The pain may not necessarily be spread evenly over your head and shoulders. You may even find that anytime you move, your head feels like it is splitting open.

The pain that comes with a migraine is typically the first thing that people think of when they hear the word migraine. In actuality, there are other symptoms like feeling nauseous or throwing up.

Other times you will get an extreme sensitivity to light when a migraine comes on. The easiest ways to relieve the discomfort caused by almost any light source is to lye down in the dark and avoid almost any light at all.

Sometimes when a migraine hits you will be in a very noisy place. As the migraine gets worse you will feel like every noise is amplified and is just making your head feel as if it is splitting open.

There are some really helpful prescription medications that are formulated just to help people that have migraines. These medications must be prescribed from a physician so if you feel like maybe the medication would be right for you, check with your doctor to see if he or she would prescribe it for you.

If your doctor does prescribe the medication, be sure to keep it close to you at all times. You never know when a migraine will hit and you will be very miserable if you get a migraine and do not have the medication there to help you.

Getting a migraine is one of the most horrible things that can happen to a person in any day. Talk to your doctor to see if you can get some medication to help with the migraines.
