The back pain when it starts causes us to reflect on the back. The back is basically divided into two portions where one is upper back and one is the lower back. The lower back portion which houses the five vertebrae is known as the lumbar. It is this lumbar which helps us in bending, rotation and lifting.

The reason for back pain can be many but primarily the reason for the back pain can be that there are torn ligaments. It is these ligaments which join the bones with the other bones. The other reason is that repetitive movements of the back cause the stress which causes the nerve endings to get compressed within the back.

The best way to strengthen the back is to exercise but before doing that take medical advice as the doctor may advise only brisk walking and nothing else to strengthen the back. The best exercise which will help the muscles to be strong is the crunches. These help put more muscle into the back area and that prevents back pain.

Then make sure that you have good posture while standing, sitting and sleeping. Almost anytime if we try to lift a heavy weight it puts pressure on the back. So if you are lifting heavy weights then make sure that you bend you knees and squat and the lift the weight as opposed to lifting straight from the ground. That way you are not putting extra stress on your back.

Persons with more than desired body weight will have back problems and there is extra weight which is being put on the back muscles

Exercising and healthy eating habits will help reduce the back pain.

After a typical tooth removal, one is probably to get infections. Your tooth doctor would prescribe you the essential medicines and antibiotic drugs depending on the circumstance of your tooth which has been extracted. There are some severe cases wherein even antibiotics would not be efficient.

Usually a dentists clinic is the last place mass want to go to. One usually visits the dentist as a last option i.e. when one has bitter pain in the teeth or gums, when one has inflamed and puffy gums, when there is blood seeping out from the gums and teeth etc. Your dental practitioner would want to double check whether you need to put on antibiotic drugs before actually started the process of extraction. In case he experiences that you really have a very bad sore, then the first thing he would do is to comprehend the infectivity before he in reality goes in for tooth extraction.

There are illustrations where people confront infectivity just subsequently the tooth has been pulled out. This is typical even in cases where there has been no early infection. What one needs to realize that even after a tooth extraction, there are chances that bacteria are still existing in your mouth. They have not been wiped off completely. That area would cause tremendous pain and a sore feeling, due to which you cannot clean that part for the next 2 days. Inability to disinfect that part could lead to bugs getting reproduced in the mouth.

The direct effect of an infection is fresh bleeding. It could take about 48 hours to realize the outcomes of a tooth extraction. One might not feel it necessity to see a tooth doctor, but one is suggested to do so, in order to pass over out the chances of an infection. The final result would be that you would experience main pain while your dental practitioner is working on your teeth.

There are examples where the dentist has no other alternative. He has to remove your tooth, then it becomes necessary to anesthetise you. Like mentioned earlier, it would take quite a dosage of antibiotic drug to be put in, nothing is unattainable. In case your dentist finds that the pain killers are not effective, he could also medicate you on laughing gas or an IV anesthesia. Now what exactly does an IV do. It puts you into sleep, so that the tooth extraction becomes simpler and pain free.

It is true that tooth infections do cause pain and problem, but once the tooth doctor is through with the extraction, it may not constantly be required to take antibiotics. In case you have observed a sound oral hygienics, then it would get cured on its own. It is suggested to salt rinse your mouth in the introductory point. Pay heed to what your dental practitioner has to articulate, so that you do not face further troubles after the extraction or even after that.

Live Pain-Free by Activating Your Mental Pharmacy

February 20, 2009 - 9:45 am No Comments

Chronic pain plagues millions of people, and the widely accepted medical solutions have mixed results. Medication is costly. It can be both expensive and riddled with persistent side effects. Those who suffer from chronic pain are often forced to make a choice: live with chronic pain, or chose a lesser pain or uncomfortable side effect. What about natural solutions? Isn’t there a way to employ the power of the mind to release healing chemicals that are just as effective, without the cost or toxic side effects?

Creative visualization and relaxation (CVR) provides a new solution. Acclaimed therapist Patrick K. Porter, PhD, has developed a new CVR program titled Pain-Free Lifestyle. His techniques are designed to help eliminate chronic pain in a natural way, quickly and easily. The program helps those who suffer from chronic pain realize that the most powerful remedy they have lies within their own mind.

The second CVR process of his thirteen-session Pain-Free Lifestyle program is titled Activate Your Mental Pharmacy, and guides the listener to relax and use his or her own mind as a healing tool. Listeners learn to naturally relieve chronic pain and discomfort from their bodies using the power of their mind as an alternative to expensive and sometimes toxic pharmaceuticals. (Of course, CVR should be integrated into a total pain management plan, and medication should not be discontinued without discussion and approval of a medical doctor.)

The body relaxes and the mind opens to change during the CVR process. The brain itself can release healing chemicals that are designed to remove pain from the body. “Activate Your Mental Pharmacy” creates triggers that signal the brain to release these chemicals. The process also teaches the listener to stop being afraid of the pain so that they can accept the reality of living a pain-free life.

What are these healing brain chemicals that are released through the CVR process? The most significant and effective results of CVR are the increase in endorphin and serotonin levels. CVR can increase serotonin levels by twenty-one percent, while endorphin levels are increased by twenty-five percent. This is a very significant increase, one that brings about an overall sense of calm and well-being in the body. Endorphins, in particular, provide natural pain relief and act as natural anti-depressants.

CVR not only addresses the physical aspects of pain, but also helps one address their mental well-being. Chronic pain can leave sufferers with recurring mental and emotional effects to cope with. Activating serotonin and endorphins calm the body, increase feelings of pleasure and love, increase brain alertness, and encourage a positive mindset by acting as natural anti-depressants.

Dr. Porter uses relaxation and breathing techniques throughout the process to help the listener become more and more relaxed. Relaxation is the key element in this process, and achieving a state of total relaxation becomes easier as the process goes on. Most are able to absorb the information fully because they are unaware of any discomfort while listening to a session. This helps them absorb the information Dr. Porter presents. Listeners even find it easier to relax and focus later when wide-awake.

Using CVR, chronic pain sufferers can provide instant relief to specific areas of the body by directing the healing brain chemicals released during the relaxation process. Most listeners will benefit immediately, noticing results the first time they listen to Dr. Porter’s process. With repeated practice, these healing chemicals can be activated easily and more effectively, providing relief to the exact source of pain within the body.

CVR helps those who suffer from chronic pain make peace with their bodies and use their minds as the solution. Immediately upon using CVR, listeners notice improvements in their lives. Dr. Porter has designed the program to create a positive thought cycle. Each day will be better than the one before and listeners will truly live pain free. When activating what Dr. Porter calls the mental pharmacy, many healthy “side-effects” are also activated. Listeners find themselves craving healthy foods and eating better, being more active and doing exercises that are safe and even therapeutic for their body, and releasing anger and fear so that they can truly be free of their chronic pain.

The process ends with a mental vacation, a place where the listener has the time to relax and enjoy the present moment totally free of pain. Dr. Porter encourages the listener to get used to this feeling. Listeners are learning to activate their mental pharmacy, which he says is an important step in living a totally pain-free life.

Dr. Porter has been working with the creative visualization and relaxation process for over twenty years, helping people to change their minds in order to change their lives. His pain-free program is designed to supplement the care and recommendations of a medical doctor. He stresses that listeners should never discontinue prescription use without first consulting their medical doctor.
